Lawrence Taylor's son arrested on statutory rape, sodomy charges

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. -

The son of former New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Cobb County over the weekend on statutory rape and sodomy charges.  Lawrence J. Taylor, Jr. was arrested early Sunday morning. 

Police were called to a Powder Springs home regarding an alleged sexual assault about 11:45 p.m. Saturday. Once at the home, Powder Springs detectives spoke with two juvenile females, who both alleged inappropriate sexual contact with Taylor, Jr.

One juvenile claims that a sexual assault occurred on July 6 at Taylor's Powder Springs residence. Another juvenile alleged consensual sexual contact with Taylor in early 2012.

According to the Powder Springs Police Department, Taylor, Jr., 31, faces three felony charges, which include statutory rape, aggravated child molestation, and statutory aggravated sodomy. 

TMZ.com reports his accuser, who is under 16 years old, claims Taylor Jr. forcibly performed oral sex on her.

Taylor, Jr.'s father is currently on probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of having sex with a 16-year-old prostitute.

Taylor, Jr. is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to Powder Springs police.
