The heart of the Memphis Grizzlies defense will remain just that. Tuesday night Grizzlies guard Tony Allen tweeted, "Memphis stand up!!!! #GrizzNation.
It was his way of letting the world know he had come to terms with the Grizzlies on a deal that would keep him in the Bluff City.
The deal is for four years and $20 million. Allen later tweeted "Thank you Lord for all that you've done and all that you're doing in my life. I am so grateful and humbled."
The deal can't become official until July 10 when the free agency moratorium is lifted. The 31-year-old Allen averaged 8.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 76 games last season.
It is his work on the defensive end that led to the $5 million-a-year deal. Stay with FOX13 News and myfoxmemphis.com as we continue to bring you updates on this story.
