Disgruntled son suspected of setting fire to parents' home

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Atlanta police are searching for a man accused of setting fire to his parents' home on Greystone Road in northwest Atlanta early Tuesday morning.

Officers say the son -- whose name has not been made public – was upset when he left the home in the 1800 block of Greystone Road and later returned. It was then that, police say, he kicked in the front door and set fire to his parents' home.

Atlanta fire officials quickly put out the fire, saying that the rear of the house, including the kitchen and back door, sustained quite a bit of fire-related damage. Battalion Chief Stephen Hill would not comment on exactly how the fire was started.

FOX 5 News learned that the man's father cut his hand during a struggle and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for medical attention.

Police say the son will face several charges once he's apprehended.   They have not released a description of him.
