Blues legend Bobby "Blue" Bland was laid to rest on Thursday.
Family, fans, and dignitaries gathered at First Baptist Broad Church to say their final goodbyes to the legendary singer. BB King, former Congressman Harold Ford Senior and the Reverend Jesse Jackson took part in the funeral service.
The people who played with "Blue" Bland over the ages say he will be missed.
"When I heard it, it was a big shock because he was such a loveable artist and such a legend. We put him away nicely," said Harrison Callaway.
"It was an inspiration, amazing, heart touching, soul wrenching. He was a legend," added Lynn Grinning.
After the funeral, his coffin was taken down Beale Street.
"Blue" Bland was born just outside Memphis in 1930 and is known in the music industry as the "Ambassador to the Blues."
He passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 83.
