Transformer fire at Exchange building in downtown Memphis

DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

A downtown Memphis apartment complex is evacuated after a transformer catches fire.

It happened Wednesday around 9 p.m. at the Exchange building at 9 N. Second street.

Memphis police says an underground transformer caught fire, sending flames about two stories high.

The building was evacuated, but by 10:15 p.m. everyone was let back in.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
