FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) - A Banks, Ore., man has been cited in a fiery crash on Oregon 47 near Forest Grove that injured three adults and one child on Saturday afternoon.
The Oregonian reports police cited the man for following too close. Oregon State Police say the man slammed on his brakes in his Jeep to avoid a rear-end collision, swerved into the opposite lane of traffic and crashed into an RV.
The Jeep then struck a tree and rolled, and the RV came to a stop on top of it. The Jeep's driver, 25-year-old Bryan K. Bartholomew, was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Oregon State Police now say the family in the RV - two adults and one child from Gilbert, Ariz. - were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
A hospital spokeswoman told The Oregonian Bartholomew is recovering and has been upgraded to fair condition at Oregon Health & Science University.
