A 20-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly robbed a convenience store and forced the clerk into a walk-in freezer before fleeing on Tuesday.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies say a suspect pulled a bandana over his face and demanded money from a clerk at a Circle K store in Mayer.

The suspect allegedly threatened to harm the clerk and then forced the clerk into a freezer. He got away with an unknown amount of money.

On Thursday, deputies stopped a vehicle on Main Street and Highway 69 in Mayer.

A rear seat passenger initially gave a false name, but they later found out his name was Brandon Frye.

Deputies say Frye matched the description of the suspect and saw a tattoo similar to the one in the surveillance photo on his forearm.

Frye allegedly fought with deputies during his arrest, but eventually cooperated.

According to deputies, they found evidence linking Frye to the robbery. He also was illegally possessing prescription medications.

Frye was booked on charges of robbery, kidnapping, threatening/causing physical injury or property damage, theft, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, using/threatening physical force and possession or use of a dangerous drug.

He's in custody on a $75,000 bond.
