SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

After months of running, Deangelo Eady could soon be forced to pay for the life police say he cut short.

33-year-old Nicole Riggs was murdered on March 31. She was at Myst Ultra Lounge in Southfield when police say Eady, who is also 33, fired shots into the club. One of them hit Riggs.

"The fact that he can do something like that, a senseless crime, to run, to hide, to flee, to leave the state," the victim's brother told us.

The Oakland County prosecutor says Eady may have had helpers, and one of those helpers may have been a Southfield police officer named Damiso Davis. He had been with the department for eleven years. Sources say Davis and Eady were friends, and the two may have been in contact with each other after the murder.

Davis was never assigned to the case, but when the department found out the officer and the suspect may have been too close for comfort, an internal investigation was launched and Davis resigned.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is now launching its own investigation, and the officer could face criminal charges just like his alleged friend.

Eady is being held without bond. Meanwhile, Davis is still under investigation.
