DEKALB, Ill. (Associated Press) -

Northern Illinois University has finalized its home and road-game schedule for the 2013 football season.

The Huskies' Nov. 2 game at Massachusetts has been chosen for the Mid-American Conference's ESPN Regional television package. That game will be broadcast from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, starting at 11 a.m.

NIU will play its home opener against Eastern Illinois University at 6 p.m. on Sept. 21. The Huskies have a 21-game home winning streak.

The school's 107th Homecoming game will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 against Akron. Teams from 1963, 1983 and 2003 will be honored.

Acting Athletic Director Christian Spears says administrators and campus groups liked the 4 p.m. kickoff for the Homecoming game because the celebratory weekend includes so many activities.
