Glendale Police seek man in attempted abduction

Posted: Updated:
GLENDALE, Ariz. -

Glendale police are looking for a man who tried to abduct a young girl last Thursday.

Officers were called to a park in the 5300 block of W. Cholla Street on reports of an attempted abduction last Thursday afternoon. Two elementary school-aged girls reported they were playing in the park when they were approached by an unknown adult male.

The man grabbed one of the girls from behind and dragged her backwards, and both of the girls began yelling loudly, while one ran for help.

A witness heard the screams and yelled, and the suspect let go and ran. He eventually fled on a dark green or black BMX-style bicycle.

The girls got away and contacted a citizen, who called 911.

The suspect is described as an Asian male, in his 30s, 5'8" tall, 175 pounds, with short black hair and a patchy beard. He was wearing a black shirt and sweatshirt, black sunglasses, baggy black pants and dark shoes [see two composite sketches of suspect].
