Private bridge collapse at Cobb trailer park

Posted: Updated:
MARIETTA, Ga. -

Some Cobb County residents headed to on Monday morning were caught off-guard when they found the bridge leading out of their community had collapsed overnight

The small, private bridge collapse was reported at a trailer park along Sandtown Road in Marietta, shortly after a line of storms swept through the area of Cobb County.

Authorities say the collapse doesn't pose any immediate danger to residents in the area, although it will impede vehicles from using the accessway.

There was no official word on what exactly caused the hole to form or when it would be repaired.

Tenants said that this has been a reoccurring problem. They claim the road has been patched up several times in recent years. However, the property manager, Randy Iaquinto, acknowledged making one  minor repair to the bridge in the past, but insisted it wasn't a factor in the collapse.
