Six Memphis suburbs received the green light to head to the polls.
The Shelby County Election Commission set Tuesday, July 16 as the date when voters in Germantown, Collierville, Arlington, Lakeland, Millington and Bartlett will decide whether to form their own school districts.
In 2012 voters overwhelmingly supported the idea of separate districts but a federal judge blocked the process.
A law passed in Nashville in April allowed it to move forward again.
