If you're planning on spending the day relaxing indoors on Memorial Day, and you still have an antenna, you'll want to check out FOX13 News' Digital Television Network called "Movies!."
Twenty-four hours a day you can check out feature films, timeless classics and some films not seen on broadcast TV to date.
The new "Movies!" channel is located on 13.2. Before you tune in 13.2 on digital broadcast television you're going to have to do a re-scan.
"Remember back when we transitioned back from analog to digital?," asked FOX13 News Chief Engineer David Brant. "You had to scan for channels all that were available."
That's what you have to do this time.
"You have to follow the instructions in your owners manual," Brant added. "It was probably the same procedure you went through when you first bought it."
The re-scan shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Brant says your TV manual may say it takes up to 50 minutes, but it really doesn't.
"Once that's done, it will be in your channel selection, so you can pick 13.1 - which is FOX TV - or 13.2, which is Movies!," Brant added.
After the re-scan you may pick up a few channels you didn't know you had in the process.
If you have questions, just call the help number in your owners manual.
"Movies!" is only available Over-the-Air on 13.2 and not on cable.
"Movies!" is only available if you have an antenna starting Memorial Day, May 27. The new "Movies!" digital channel will be available to everyone else later this year.
"Movies!" is owned by the parent corporate of FOX13. It's a partnership between Fox Television Stations and Weigel Broadcasting.
"Movies!" offers 24-hours/day, full feature, wide-screen, films in the original format and run times, edited for language and inappropriate images. Movies! airs many timeless classics, and some films not seen on broadcast TV to date and are presented with limited commercial breaks.
