On May 22, 2013, at approximately 10:42 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at 3946 Balfour. Upon arrival on the scene, officers located a 26-year-old male lying on the floor inside of the residence with a gunshot wound. An ambulance was called to the scene and paramedics pronounced the victim deceased. He has not been positively identified.
Minutes later, officers responded to the area of Corning/ Steele regarding a wounded male. Officers located a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of Briar Lane. The victim was transported to the Regional Medical Center and is currently listed in non-critical condition.
The preliminary investigation revealed the 22-year-old victim was involved in an altercation with 21-year-old Setric Hall who was trying to shoot his (Hall's) girlfriend. Hall fired shots striking both victims. The female was not injured.
Hall was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempt Felony to wit Second Degree Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
