DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Beale Street's Club 152, which was shut down May 15 after a drug raid, will remain closed until at least May 23 after a hearing in Shelby County Environmental Court was reset until Thursday.

The Shelby County District Attorney and the West Tennessee Drug Task Force shut down the popular Beale Street club after an investigation found rampid drugs and violence.

Club 152 has lost out on a week's worth of business, from last weekend's Memphis In May World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest to local and out-of-town tourists.

The State of Tennessee wants the business to make necessary changes before

Both sides of the aisle met privately Tuesday to discuss the allegations. The defense says the club owners don't want drug deals going on, and they are, they want to help stop them.

Attorneys agreed to allow Club 152 owners access to the building for maintenance and employee meetings, which is standard procedure in these types of cases.

Defense attorney Ted Hansom  said the club owners need some time to comb through the allegations.

"We just found out about those allegations so we're investigating that because the common ground is if those things did in fact go on, we want to address it, no question about it," Hansom said. "The question is how to do it when in the context of Beale, 152."

Prosecutor Paul Hagerman said Club 152's owners are being cooperative.
