Written ruling to come in school board election challenge

Posted: Updated:
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Chancellor Kenny Armstrong decided today he will issue a written ruling on a lawsuit, filed by Rev. Kenneth Whalum, which challenges the outcome of an election for a seat on the Unified School Board. No word when the ruling will come down.

Whalum is challenging his close loss to Boardmember-elect Kevin Woods in the District four race last year.

According to our news partner, The Daily News, Chancellor Armstrong has several options for his ruling. He can declare Woods the winner, overturn the results and name Whalum the winner or call for a special election in which voters will return to the polls.
