DETROIT (WJBK) -

We're told a trip for some fast food turned into a terrifying attack on a local mom as her children watched.

"It was a late night, and I decided to pick up some food for the family," Kesha said.

The meal of choice was McDonald's at the Springwells and Lafayette location on the city's southwest side.

Kesha was behind-the-wheel when she spotted a "Taurus driving down the street all crazy."

The car was swerving and speeding according to Kesha.

"I slowed a little bit to see if she was going to stop, but I had the right-of-way, so I went ahead," Kesha said.

She turned left into the McDonald's parking lot.

"The people followed me into McDonald's. They blocked me off. She got out of the car. She came to my car. She leaned in the car. She argued with me. I tried to reason with her," Kesha said.

Was road rage to blame? Kesha said she had the right-of-way. Perhaps they thought she cut them off.

"I kept saying, 'Wait, wait, wait, calm down. Please just calm down. Wait a minute. Hold on,'" Kesha explained. "I was like, 'I didn't do anything wrong. Just wait a minute.' And she just kept on saying, 'You shut the [expletive] up.'"

We're told the woman spit on her twice and threw a liquor bottle through the car window.

"My kids were in the car. They had kids in the car. I go to try to leave and drive around their car. The next thing you know there's a bottle flying in the window, glass all in my mouth," Kesha said.

She jumped out, but four young women from the other car got out, too.

"It was crazy. They literally [were] thumping me. The girl that came to my car, she sat on top of me," Kesha said.

Cut, bruised and now left with two bloody eyes, she said she was not trying to fight, but rather trying to reason with them.

"For them to be as upset as they were over something so simple, they had to be either intoxicated or on drugs or something," Kesha said.

"By her being epileptic, God was on her side because she ended up having bruises, but this could have killed her," said her finance.

"Of course, we do want justice for both her and for our children," he added. "For our children to witness something like this, it's an atrocity."

Kesha said the suspects are four Hispanic women possibly in their twenties. She spent the night in the hospital where she made a report with Detroit police.

Kesha wants to press charges, so speak up if you have any information. She said if these women are not caught now, the next time someone could be killed.

A massive construction project is underway in Macomb County. If you travel on Van Dyke, you know how rough it is. Now, jackhammers are out there tearing up a two-and-a half mile stretch from 11 Mile to Chicago Rd. The road will be milled, then resurfaced with asphalt. New curbs will be installed. Nine intersections get new traffic signals. Sidewalks will be ramped to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Weather permitting, the project will be finished this summer.
