A man who exited a vehicle during a reported argument with a driver was struck by another vehicle and killed early Friday morning in Arlington, a Shelby County Sheriff spokesman said.
The fatal traffic accident took place in the area of Larry Anderson and Harrell in Arlington just before 3 a.m.
According to deputies, when they arrived at a pedestrian stuck call they discovered that the driver of a van had gotten into an argument with his passenger and put him out of the vehicle.
Feeling remorse the driver returned to try to pick up his passenger and stopped his van in the road. As the driver was trying to get the passenger, later identified as 28-year-old Daniel Perkins, the victim was struck by another vehicle that did not see Perkins.
First responders pronounced Mr. Perkins deceased.
No charges were filed against the driver that struck the victim.
