How to get tickets for the 'American Idol' tour

The "American Idol" tour will bring 11 contestants to cities around the country this summer.

The roster is made up of the top 10 contestants and an 11th performer chosen as the winner of a "fan save."

The 40-show concert tour kicks off June 29, 2013, in St. Louis and stops in many cities before wrapping in Nashville on August 31.

The dates and locations in the tristate New York area are:

  • August 12: Sun National Bank Center, Trenton, N.J.
  • August 14: Prudential Center, Newark, N.J.
  • August 15: Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, Long Island, N.Y.
  • August 16: Arena at Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City, N.J.
  • August 17: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Conn.
  • August 23: Webster Bank Arena, Bridgeport, Conn.
