MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Man wanted for trying to abduct elderly woman yesterday has turned himself in.

No charges have been filed yet.

MPD put out a call for help yesterday in identifying the man who possibly attempted to kidnap a 74-year old woman while she was loading her car.

The woman told police she was approached by an unknown suspect who claimed he needed to get to Nashville. She told the man she was unable to drive him. The suspect then stated, "Get in the car, I have a gun."

The attempted kidnapping victim, who was not injured, told police she ran away from the suspect.

A witness saw the commotion and saw the elderly victim running away. He decided to follow the kidnapping suspect and followed the man to Poplar Avenue and Colonial.

He told police he took a photo of the suspect.

The identity has not been released yet.

FOX13 is following this story and will continue to bring you the latest developments as they come in.
