Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. the Main Library will host the Friends of the Library book sale, offering some of the best deals on books you will find anywhere.
The bi-annual sale is like a treasure trove for those who still like turn a page.
"Something like 10,000 or maybe more and that includes science, mysteries, SciFi, math, children's books, young adults, How To books - you name it we got it," said Cynthia Hawes, book sale director. "We also got audio books and VHS tapes, yeah for the old school."
Here is a news flash for the tragically hip. Those cutting-edge computer-smartphone-texting-Kindle-notebook users, books are still being published in print.
"These are book people that are coming," Hawes said. "Still a lot of people that want the books. Downloading is fine but if your battery runs down you're stuck and a book has no batteries. There is something - the feel of a book, the smell, the sound of a book closing, turn of a page just they way it feels."
There is really nothing like going to the library or a bookstore. They are happy places and there are great deals to be found here. Like $1 for hardbacks and 50-cents for paperbacks.
