There's a rabies warning out for people in two north DeKalb County neighborhoods. Two raccoons were captured, and they tested positive for rabies.
One was caught in the Harts Mill Court area on April 26. The other was caught in the Ragley Hall Road area on April 30.
County animal control officials say anyone who has been bitten or scratched by a wild animal should seek medical attention immediately.
DeKalb County officials suggest removing outdoor pet food to prevent your pets from coming into contact with animals that have rabies.
If you notice your pet acting nervous, is aggressive, or is foaming or drooling from the mouth, contact DeKalb County Animal Control Services at 404-294-2996 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 404-294-2519 at other times.
