A Jonesboro woman was shocked to discover that she stood feet away from the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing.
A week after the Boston bombings, a photo surfaced showing Caroline Callaway just steps away the Tsarnaev brothers.
The photograph was captured by photographer Bob Leonard and shared with the FBI. It was taken about 10 minutes before the deadly blasts at the Boston Marathon.
Shortly after the picture was taken, Caroline, 21, walked away and headed to a nearby restaurant with friends. While there, they felt the concussion of the blasts.
"We just heard the word bomb used a lot and we heard explosions and so we were like we just need to get out of this area," she said.
Little did she know that the two men she stood next to the Tsarnaev brothers, were the prime suspects in the unfolding chaos.
"We saw people, like, running down the street, and decided that we should probably join in with the running," Callaway said.
The close call has made Caroline very thankful.
"It makes me just even more so grateful that, you know, I am still here, and it definitely just makes me want to work hard in everything that I do and do the best that I can with my music therapy and be the best that I can with whatever it is that I end up doing in life," she said.
Caroline graduates from Berklee School of Music on Saturday. In addition to music, she says she will dedicate her life to service in honor of all the helpers she saw spring into action on that deadly day.
