A group of moms who want more gun background checks met with Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson on Monday.
The Georgia chapter of "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense In America" said they want the senator to support a new compromise gun bill that will be introduced in the Senate.
Isakson voted with the majority of senators to defeat the original bill two weeks ago.
Chapter founder Piyali Cole says they got exactly the answer from the senator they were looking for.
"He is open and is speaking to [West Virginia] Sen. Manchin about the bill, and is working with him. He did not say yay or nay whether he was going to vote for the bill, however," Cole said.
In a statement, Isakson said that he is always happy to meet with people to discuss their issues or concerns.
