MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Officers responded to a complaint at 125 South Main on April 1, 2013.  Upon arrival on the scene, officers were informed that on March 1, 2013, an unknown female cashed a stolen City of Memphis escrow check at First Tennessee Bank, located at 4330 Summer Avenue.

The investigation revealed the check had been written to a deceased party; however, the issuer was not informed of the death until after it was discovered that the check had been fraudulently cashed.

The suspect was captured on the bank's video surveillance.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH or call Economic Crimes Bureau at 636-3350.
