Arias' words in 2008 jailhouse interview come back to haunt her

Updated:
PHOENIX -

"I've done many things that are shameful, but this is not one of them."

Jodi Arias' calm composure was on display during a 2008 jailhouse interview.  She was arrested for the brutal murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.

Question: "Did you kill Travis Alexander?"

Jodi: "Absolutely not.  No, I had no part in it... I would be shaking in my boots right now if I had to answer to such a heinous crime."

"I didn't commit a murder. I didn't hurt Travis. I would never hurt Travis," she said. "No jury is going to convict me. I am innocent, and you can mark my words on that."

Although she claimed for a year and a half that she was innocent -- that two masked intruders killed Travis -- all the evidence mounted and Arias later admitted to killing him in self-defense.

However, that story didn't fly with jurors.

Wednesday, Arias was convicted of first degree murder after a 5-month trial. Now, the question is, will she be sentenced to death?
