DAHLONEGA, Ga. (AP) - The Fulton County District Attorney's office is participating in an educational program that introduces elementary school children to the criminal justice system.
District Attorney's spokeswoman Yvette Jones says students in Atlanta and Fulton County elementary schools are set to compete in a mock trial Wednesday. The competition is the culmination of "Project Legal Lives," a 10-week program that Jones says teaches children about the law, the legal system and the principles it's based on.
Jones says students will assume the roles of prosecutors, defense attorneys, witnesses, victims and jurors.
