While the future of Shelby County Schools is still up in the air, parents in North Mississippi are breathing a sigh of relief.
Plans to change school district lines in Desoto County Schools have been canceled.
In a written statement, Superintendent Milton Kuykendall says the decision was made as a result of feedback from parents. He goes on to say the district has worked out a solution to creatively use existing buildings and accommodate enrollment.
The change was originally proposed due to overcrowding.
Kuykendall's letter is being sent home to parents.
