Operation Wedding couple exchange vows

Posted: Updated:
SUGAR HILL, Ga. -

Our Operation Wedding couple tied the knot at Ashton Gardens in Sugar Hill on Thursday. For Staff Sergeant Ancil Christopher and Tamika Russell, it turned out be the perfect end to weeks of planning!

It was an early morning for Tamika. She arrived at Ashton Gardens by limo courtesy of Atlantic Limousine and Transportation.

Her mother was near tears, but there wasn't time to cry because it was soon time to walk down the aisle as the bride-to-be of Staff Sergeant Ancil Christopher.

Tamika was stunning in her bridal dress as she walked down the aisle toward Ancil. Friends and family gathered in the glass-encased chapel to witness the traditional vows, and give them their blessings.

After weeks of planning the wedding, and what seemed like just minutes to perform the ceremony, they were proclaimed Mr. and Mrs. Ancil and Tamika Christopher!

Guests dined on pecan encrusted chicken, string beans and mashed sweet potatoes while the beautiful three layer, three flavor cheesecake teased them on display.  Soon, the bouquet was tossed and caught, the garter was retrieved, and the dancing went on well into Thursday afternoon.

It was the perfect day for a perfect couple.

The wedding was completely free of charge for Ancil and Tamika. They were surprised after the ceremony with a free honeymoon! Gifted to them by Morning Breeze Cabins in north Georgia!
