Police need help locating vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Memphis Police Department need your help finding a vehicle involved in hit and run on Saturday at approximately 8:25 a.m.

Officers responded to a traffic crash at 4395 Elvis Presley in which a pedestrian was struck.  Upon arrival on the scene, officers observed the victim lying in the driveway of the Krystal's restaurant.  An ambulance was called to the scene and paramedics pronounced the victim, William A. Martin, male, 71 deceased.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking westbound attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a silver or gray Chevrolet sedan bearing Mississippi tag DBU116. The vehicle did not stop after striking the victim. This vehicle possibly has heavy damage to the left front and the windshield.

Investigators urge anyone with information regarding the responsible vehicle to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH or the Traffic office at 636-4622.

This investigation is ongoing.
