WAYNE, Pa. -

Debra Delaney had just completed her fourth Boston Marathon when the explosions went off Monday afternoon.

"It felt like an Armageddon. I can't describe it. It almost felt like terrorists were on the ground. that's how the screaming was."

She got back to her home in Wayne Tuesday morning.

"I said, 'oh my God did you hear that? It sounded like a building collapsed," she said. She replays in her mind the moment it happened. It was not long after she crossed the finish line, picked up her personal things from volunteers and returned to the finish line to wait for friends still running.

"Everyone was charging at me and I saw smoke behind them. I saw screaming people. People were pulling people out of the way and sirens were blasting," she said.

Debra recalls the crowd telling her and everyone else to run the other way. When she eventually got to her hotel room, out the window, she saw emergency crews, medics and military on the ground. But it wasn't until she turned on the news that she found it was even worse than what she thought.

"I never thought dead bodies. I don't know what I thought. I just didn't until I saw the television." Debra said she made a chilling phone call to her husband but the phones went dead. She still didn't know what danger, if any, remained or if she would make it home alive.

"I just thought that was it. It felt like that 9-11 doom," she said.
