LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) -

At St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Livonia, the basement is filled with hundreds of dresses.

Most of the gowns are new, some even came from the Miss America pageant, each one is a potential prom dress and they're all selling for the low price of $20. Shoes, bags, wraps and jewelry are also available.

The proceeds will help the church's outreach, but organizers of the sale say the event is about making sure prom is affordable for everyone.

"It's really just about helping the girls," says event organizer Callie Gross.

The event is open to the public. St. Paul's is located at 27475 Five Mile Road in Livonia. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and the sale starts at 9:00 a.m.
