After a nine-hour search, a missing 16-year-old girl was located on Friday.
Authorities that Julia Palmer, who has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, left her home in Spring Valley Circle in Stockbridge sometime between midnight and 6:15 a.m.
She was later found walking on Bouldercrest Road near Railroad Street in Clayton County, several miles from her home.
A witness said that Palmer looked frightened and perhaps a little dehydrated, but said she was able to walk to the ambulance.
"We're glad that, although she was on foot, that she's not in any life-threatening danger right now. It's a success story," said Sgt. Joey Smith of the Henry County Police Department.
She was taken to Henry-Piedmont Hospital for observation as a precaution, according to authorities.
