DeSoto County Sheriff's first-ever substation is in full operation in Olive Branch.
The substation is located in the back of the Suzuki dealership on the service road, a space that was donated by Homer Skelton Ford. The dealership is picking up the cost of the light and water bill and the rent is free.

"It's one of the things that we feel like we have to do to make sure that the people we serve here have access instead of having to drive all the way to Hernando," said Sheriff Bill Rasco. "Plus the wear and tear on our vehicles, the tires, the guys travel from Olive Branch to Hernando to come in to start work, now they just come here and check in and get their information and go to work."
Sheriff Rasco would like to see three additional substations in the western, northern and southern part of the county.
