PHILADELPHIA -

Three people were shot Thursday afternoon after an altercation at a recreation field in Overbrook.

Police say the incident happened around 3:45p.m. near 59th Street and Lancaster Avenue. A fight ensued and guns were drawn by at least two people.

Two shooting victims were taken to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. One of the victims there is believed to be a suspect in the shooting. A third victim was taken by a Good Samaritan to Lankenau Hospital and later died from his injuries Thursday night.

The shooting happened within distance of Overbrook High School. School officials say that the school was placed on lockdown for about 90 minutes while after-school activities were taking place.

Police are still gathering information and talking to witnesses on the incident.
