The estranged husband of fallen officer Martoiya Lang is expected to take the stand on Thursday. Officer Lang was killed while in the line of duty back in December.
Darius Lang is the father of the three eldest children who spoke with the judge on Wednesday. The children's testimonies could help determine who will be their guardian and receive all the funds associated with their mother's death.
Cameras were not allowed inside while the kids were in court. It wasn't your typical testimony. The children were seated together across from the judge at a table inside the courtroom.
There are reports of physical abuse between their parents, and a 911 call from daughter Naia.
Now, the judge has likely heard some firsthand accounts from the kids about the parents' divorce, possible abuse and Darius' parenting skills.
Earlier in the day, Darius' relative took the stand. Candace Brock says Martoiya's death has hit daughter Naia particularly hard.
Since her mother was killed, Brock says Naia has become more distant and defiant.
"I just hate the fact Naia has already lost her mom and I don't want to see her lose her dad also. So, I feel she does need to listen, this family has already been through so much, they lost their grandmother in 2011, and their mother in 2012, don't lose your father in 2013," said an emotional Brock.
The fighting parties turned in their tax returns from the past couple of years. Their financial history could weigh heavily on the judge's decision.
