What if we told you there was a way you could clear your name if you have an outstanding warrant for you arrest? If you live in the Southaven, some of you can.
The last time the city of Southaven did this, the court made a lot of money, and a lot of people had their warrants taken care of.
The idea came about after warrants had been accumulating for years. You pay 50-percent of your fine, make arrangements to pay the other 50-percent, and the warrant is taken care of.
It works because the court system gets its money, you set up your payment and it gets the warrant off of you.
In 2012, about 250 warrants were cleared from the books and 87 people came in because of Operation Safe Surrender.
Operation Safe Surrender will be back in business Thursday, April 11, at Southaven Municipal Court from 12-7 p.m.
