We're learning more about a first of its
kind list but it's not one Memphis Schools want to be on. Researchers with the UCLA Center for Civil
Rights Remedies put it together.
They studied schools across the
country and according to them Memphis City Schools are number two when it comes
to suspensions in middle and high school.
Chicago is ranked #1.
According to reports, MCS suspended more than 25% of its African
American students during the 2009-2010 school year and researchers also found
59% of the male black suspensions in MCS were
students with disabilities.
