Georgia's Department of Driver Services say they experienced an outage with their computers at all DDS locations on Tuesday, leaving some customers waiting for hours.
Those waiting to get a driver's license or an identification card expressed their frustration to FOX 5 about the long wait times brought about by the technical problem.
FOX 5 has previously reported on other instances where the DDS has experienced computer problems. Officials with driver services say they're trying to get to the bottom of it.
"It's frustrating for everyone, and it's frustrating to us who came in wanting to serve our customers. Typically Tuesday is our busiest day. And when we get behind on Tuesday it's quite an effort from everyone to catch back up," said a DDS employee.
Driver Services blamed the issue on their vendor. That company, MorphoTrust USA, told FOX 5 in a statement, "The problem appears to stem from faulty network hardware. We are troubleshooting and anticipate having the system online and stable by morning."
Lines formed early on Wednesday at the Norcross office, and according to the DDS website, drivers can expect longer than usual wait times due to Tuesday's outage. They suggest calling ahead before visiting a DDS office.
