Popular Memphis nightclub Senses closed its doors for the last time Saturday after nine years in business after a mega-celebration.
Often named one of Memphis' top nightspots, George Mironovich, owner of the Poplar Avenue club, told staffers April 3 he was ready to retire and close the nightclub.
In order to go out without a bang, Mironovich hosted a free party that closed out the club Saturday evening.
"It was fun and it was nice to see people," he said. "It's sort of bitter sweet, you know? I'm sorry to see that it's going because people enjoyed their times here and they want to continue to enjoy life, but now it's no longer there. Now I'm 62 and I'm ready to retire. I'm just going to relax and enjoy and see where life leads me."
There's no word if other potential business owners have an interest in opening a new nightspot in the current location.
Senses Nightclub had been called home to several celebrities, distinguished VIP and local business owners such as Justin Timberlake, Drake, and several Memphis Grizzlies players.
