MESA, Ariz. -

A 5-year-old boy nearly drowned Saturday afternoon at a pool near Main Street and Extension Road.

Mesa Fire Department says a woman, her boyfriend and three children were lounging at a pool when the boyfriend's 8-year-old son saw the woman's 5-year-old son at the bottom of the pool.

According to firefighters, the boyfriend's older son, who is about 10-years-old, was able to get the boy out of the pool.

The boyfriend performed CPR and the boy was breathing, but lethargic when Mesa Fire arrived.

The boy was taken to a hospital. His condition hasn't been released.

Firefighters say the 5-year-old was wearing floaties but had removed them somehow.
