SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Nicole Riggs, a 33-year-old wife and mother from Oak Park, was an innocent victim shot and killed just after 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning at Myst Ultra Lounge in Southfield.

Police say a fight there earlier in the night ended with several people getting kicked out of the club.  Shortly afterward, someone opened fire from the parking lot.

Southfield Police are looking for one of the people kicked out of the club, who is now a person of interest in this case.

"I just want the guy to be found," said Malik Singleton, Riggs' nephew.

He knows all too well what his 13-year-old cousin, Riggs' son, is going through.  Singleton lost his own father when 36-year-old Raymond Singleton, Junior was gunned down on Detroit's west side in December of 2010.  His killers were caught and convicted.

"Inside you just feel all broken and stuff, so it's very emotional," said Singleton.

So much violence has been a part of these young lives.

"You can't avoid it.  Violence is going to happen anywhere you go.  So it's really not a surprise to me," Singleton remarked.

No 15-year-old should ever feel that way about the violence in our society.  We should all be surprised, shocked, outraged and determined to stop it.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the man pictured should call Southfield Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.  There is a $2,500 reward.
