MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

on Thursday, Memphis not only remembered the death of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., it also honored those he fought for the sanitation workers, who were striking at the time of his death in April 1968.

As a permanent reminder that some things have changed the intersection at the corner of Beale Street and Danny Thomas Boulevard was renamed "1968 Strikers Lane," which runs in front of the local AFSCME headquarters.
