Scott Ferguson, the former mayor of Oakland, Tenn., plead guilty to a bigamy charge in a Crittendon County, Ark., on Thursday.
Ferguson, who appeared before a judge at Marion City Hall, paid a $350 fine plus $100 in court costs. He was also given a suspended sentence of one year in prison, which means he won't see any jail time.
Ferguson was married in Crittenden County, Ark., on Feb. 14 while he was still married to the mother of his four children in Tennessee.
He stepped down as the mayor of Oakland in early March, citing marital problems, only for an investigation into the city's finances to begin a few days later.
Ferguson had nothing to say as he left the courtroom about the state audit into the city's finances, or his admitted guilt to bigamy.
