Atlanta city managers have reversed themselves and rehired three sanitation workers who had been accused of drinking alcohol on the job.
Gayla Dodson and two of her subordinates, Octavia Swainson and Patricia Sanders claimed they were consuming energy drinks mixed with juice.The case has been closely watched, with some saying that the city reacted too swiftly against the women."I think some human error was made in this whole matter. Some quick judgment maybe," said Atlanta City Councilman C.T. Martin.The workers all submitted to a breathalyzer, which came back with 0.00 results. The three workers will receive back pay for time missed due to the firing.
