SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

A valley student is heading to Tucson this weekend to participate in the state Geographic Bee.

Students from across the state are meeting at the Tucson Convention Center this Friday to get a chance to go to the national competition in Washington DC.

Heather Duff from Ingleside Middle School is one of four students representing the Scottsdale Unified School District in the state geographic bee.

"I won like the classroom geography bee, then I won like the school geography bee, then they had me take a test… like 50 questions so it was like a timed test so I had an hour. So they sent that to DC and they picked the top 100 out of 1,300 tests submitted," says student Heather Duff.

The other three students from SUSD schools to compete are Nicholas Daer, Aidan Cardall, and Matthew Fleming [not pictured].

One student from each state will participate in the National Geographic Bee competition in Washington DC from May 20th through the 22nd.

We wish them the best of luck.
