Garbage collection day changes in observance of MLK
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -
The City of Memphis will observe the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Thursday, April 4th. Residents of Memphis serviced by City of Memphis Solid Waste Management whose regular collection day is Thursday will receive garbage and recycling collection on Friday, April 5th. Since Friday will be a double collection day (Thursday & Friday) there will be little or no collection of excess trash and yard debris because crews will be concentrating on garbage carts and recycling only.
Homes serviced by City contractor Republic/Allied Waste will receive garbage (cart) and recycling collection on regular schedule; however, there will be no collection of yard debris and trash outside the cart on Thursday, April 4th.
Residents of mobile home communities serviced by City contractor, Waste Connections, are not affected.
