U.S. Congressman Steve Cohen (D-Memphis) congratulated four Mid-South high school seniors on their acceptance into U.S. military academies in the fall.
The service academies, ranging from West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force Academy, are among the toughest schools to get into. The academies look at grades, test scores, leadership, and extra curricular activities
"Not only serving your country but by attending a military academy you can help society in different ways regardless if you are wanting to leave after five years of service or if you want to stay, you will be a leader," said Albert Voe, who will attend West Point.
"It feels good," added Andrew Raves, who will attend the Naval Academy. "It is a relief. That's the best feeling I can get. It is an accomplishment, relief, satisfaction, and earnestness now."
