PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Senate's ethics committee hasn't received a complaint against Republican Sen. Don Shooter in the days following news that he was being investigated by Yuma police for barging into a classroom and confronting his grandson's teacher.

Committee chairman Sen. Steve Yarbrough said Monday a complaint could prompt a meeting of the disciplinary committee. Committee member Sen. Al Melvin says he doesn't think an ethics probe is needed. Sen. Steve Farley declined to comment.

Yuma police say Shooter went to the school on March 22 and is being investigated on potential charges of assault, trespassing and disrupting a school. Police spokeswoman Sgt. Leanne Worthen says the investigation is ongoing.

Shooter was reportedly angry because he thought the teacher was bullying his grandson.

Shooter avoided reporters at the Senate on Monday.
