Fire at Phoenix apartment complex deemed suspicious

A fire that broke out Monday night near 19th Ave and Dunlap is being considered suspicious.

About 8 p.m., Phoenix firefighters responded to a fire in a 2nd floor apartment at a 3-story complex. The blaze broke out in a vacant unit and investigators say it is suspicious.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one unit. There are 12 units in the complex. No one was injured, but one family was displaced for the night.

Investigators are working to determine the specific cause of the fire.
